Markus Stein
Born in Mannheim in 1962. Trained as a nurse and earned a graduate degree in life sciences. After holding leadership positions in hospital management he is now active in strategic product management for IT applications in health care with a medium-sized company with more than 800 customers from the hospital and social sectors in Germany. He is active in the scientific field of medical information management with more than 100 publications.
Following publication of the magazine Depesche about the armies of the 1792 to 1815 era, Markus Stein founded and maintained the portal Napoleon Online, which currently has about 35,000 visitors per month. Part of the internet portal is the page 2empire.de, on which can be found articles about the armies and military history of the period 1852 to 1871. He has authored several books about the armies and uniforms of the Napoleonic era for Zeughaus-Verlag. Markus Stein is married and lives in Berlin.
