Thierry Ehret

Born in 1958. After studying at the universities of Mulhouse and Paris, he worked in industry until 2015. For over 20 years, he was secretary of the Hartmannswillerkopf National Monument Committee. Since the 1980s, he has been conducting research in the military archives of France and Germany on the First World War, mainly on the topics of Hartmannswillerkopf, army organisation, field railways and heavy artillery. Several articles in various magazines. Book publications: Autour de l’HWK, images de l’Histoire (1988); Die Fernbeschießung der Festung Paris im Jahre 1918 (1997), Ziel Belfort (2012), Hartmannswillerkopf (2015, 2017, 2020), L’armée allemande 1914-1918 (2014), L’artillerie de tranchée allemande 1914-1918 (2020).
