Born in 1956. Married and father of three children. Forestry studies. Reserve officer training in the Austrian army, 1977 to 1989 signals officer in East Tyrolean Jäger batallion. Co-founder of the Wehrgeschichtliches Museum in Salzburg. Member of the editorial staff of the military historical periodical Pallasch. Author of numerous military historical and uniform catalogue entries and essays in Austrian and foreign specialist journals. Author of numerous book publications on the military and uniforms.
